Move In/Out.
It's almost time to move to your new home in Fenway! Here are some important things to consider before, during, and after your move:
Prior to Move:
Plan ahead for peak moving times in June/July and September in Boston.
Let 16Miner's building management know when you're moving to reserve elevators, damage prevention pads, and avoid traffic jams with other movers.
Use a reputable moving company with adequate damage insurance, or consider an on-demand storage and moving company like U-Box by U-Haul or POD.
Reserve parking space from the City of Boston in front of 16Miner and make accommodations to post "reserved parking" signs 3 days prior to your move.
Arrange for electricity and internet/cable activation with vendors like Eversource, Comcast, or Starry.
Initiate the forwarding of your mail through United States Postal Service.
Remember to pay move in / move out fee of $350.
On Moving Day:
Plan your route into Boston carefully to avoid getting "Storrowed".
Check in with the landlord to ensure that building management is prepared to receive you and keep doors open and elevator reserved.
Do not drive moving vehicles into the building; park only in your reserved space.
Receive your keys in person, arrange for hand-off with building management, or receive them in advance depending on what you have arranged.
Carefully move heavy furniture through the garage and into the elevator, and place furniture on carpet or gently atop the bamboo floors for safety.
After Moving Day:
Report scheduled furniture deliveries to the landlord and building management so movers can access the building. Fees may be charged by building management.
Hang onto coupons from companies that arrive after changing your address.
